Define social media as the array of digital tools such as instant messaging, text messaging, blogs, videos, and social networking sites like Facebook and MySpace that are inexpensive and easy to use. Social media enable people to create their own stories, videos, and photos and to manipulate them and share them widely at almost no cost.

Life is a beautiful world indeed with a vast context.Life is the name given to the force behind the existence of every single creature in this wide world, from the very lowest miscroscopic bacteria to the very highest mankind. Many qualities have been attributed to this world. Here are some of the more known qualities and characteristics of ‘life’ with exclusive direct reference to man.

Life is unfair.
This statement could be either an adage or a fairly new addition to the language. Whatever it may be, the truth conveyed by that sentence is irrefutable. In an average person’s life, many things might go wrong, in fact there has never been a single man in history whoose life was nothing but bliss. Some of the things that go wrong could be traced back to choices made by that particular person and yet others to the person’s untimely bad luck. So, at times we see for ourselves how life, cheat us of well-deserved happiness by being extremely unfair. Fair or unfair, if you know how to make lemonade out of the lemons in life handed you, almost always you can turn the tide in your favour.

Life is a miracle.
Albert Einstein himself said that there are only two ways of living our lives. One is as though everything is a miracle, and the other is as though nothing is a miracle. Well said indeed, for the very fact that we are breathing right now is a miracle. No matter how simple or complicated science makes the process of breathing look like, it still is a miracle-the most basic in of all miracles concerning our lives.

Life is nothing but a pathway on which you have to travel on and often it seems strange and dreary, not to mention mysterious. But to those who have learned how to appreciate each happening in their lives as a miracle, life will become a celebration.

Life is a race.
Many are under the wrong impression that life is all about racing for a better car, a bigger house and a wealthier lifestyle. It is not so. In the very beginning, you had to race against millions of would have been life forms to win the prize of life and that is the only race that really mattered. You emerge as a champion in that race and it is not necessary for you to continually race against your fellow human beings in the hope of defeating them. The truth is, everyone has a place in this world and Providence provides everyone their equal share. You need to work hard for them but not get yourself caught up in a wild race. Instead, race to do good to those less fortunate than you. That would fit the meaning of the sentence “life is a race” better.

God bestowed upon us with the greatest gift of all as a proof of his undying love for us- the gift of life. The gift was given to us to be utilized in the way that is deemed well by each individual. Yet, we woke up to see the sun rising today, we do not know if we will still be there to see the rising sun tomomorrow. That is how uncertain life is. So, all I have got to say is “live life, love life!”.

Dear 2012,

What took you so long?
What I really meant was, what took us, so long?

Unpaid bills, cable television service suspended, penalty for late parking fees..etc.
A speeding summons evolves into an arrest warrant in the time it took for us to not pay the fine. All because we never got around to it.

And that really sweet someone who waited too long for you to notice her, has now found an even sweeter, and more expedient, love. And we blame it on time. Or lack of.

Who are we kidding? There is so much time out there. It is ours for the taking. To use or waste as we see fit. Yes, is it really relevance that we prioritise?

Oh well, 2012 is upon us and we want to think nice thoughts so lets resolve for the new year what we have always been resolving, which generally is to do better. In my case, I want to make better use of time.

A Canadian friend theorises that perhaps if drastic weather changes dictate our survival, and not patching the hole in the roof could kill our whole family at the onset or winter, Malaysians would keep time better.

Doubtful. Because the weather here is fair. It is we who are not.

Persons in public office are infamous for disregarding time and timeliness. Even after promising to attend, the excuse given upon being absent at a function is ” I have no time.”

Bluffing.

A cabinet minister who made time to give my friend a post-election interview once said, ” There is no such thing as being too busy. Even for a minister.”

Oddly enough she tried to argue by saying that oh surely you important people have too many, more important things to do.

His reply, “Exactly. It all depends on how important you are to the politician.”

Ouch.

Oh, so that’s why many elected representatives can not attend functions and events? Because they need to visit their children who are studying abroad for at least a week, twice a year?

You might say, “I know myself,” but you are mistaken…. The only thing you know about your self is your physical appearance. The only thing you know about your inside ( your unconscious) is that when you are hungry you eat, when you are angry, you fight, and when you are consumed by passion, you make love, etc. In this regard you are equal to any animal. You have to seek the reality within yourself…. What are you? Where have you come from and where are you going. What is your role in the world? Why have you been created? Where does your happiness life? If you would like to know yourself, you should know that you are created by two things. One is your body and your outer appearance which you can see with your eyes. The other is your inner forces. This is the part you cannot see, but you can know with your insight. The reality of your existence is in your inwardness (unconscious). Everything is a servant of your inward heart

POSITIVE


Having a positive mental attitude is asking how something can be done rather than saying it can’t be done.

Like success, failure is many things to many people. With positive mental attitude, failure is a learning experience, a rung on the ladder, a plateau at which to get your thoughts in order and prepare to try again.

Always focus on the positive, you will attract more of it in your life!

You’ve done it before and you can do it now. See the positive possibilities. Redirect the substantial energy of your frustration and turn it into positive, effective, unstoppable determination.

If you have a positive attitude and constantly strive to give your best effort, eventually you will overcome your immediate problems and find you are ready for greater challenges.
